Thank you for visiting. It is hoped to develope this site so as descendants of Tyrone Frasers worldwide can exchange information or documentation on  relatives, ask for details, supply photos, clarify grey areas in the genealogy of the family, contact and perhaps meet new family members and generally support each other with their research in tracing their  roots back through the distant past.

There are many variants of the Scottish Clan name 'Fraser', some are spelt with 's', some with 'z', others with 'zier' or 'sier' and then there are the Freeser or Fraseur etc. etc. To make things easier I have adopted the spelling using the 's' only because that is the way my name is spelt.

It was 1766 when the name 'Fraser' first appeared in County Tyrone in a townland called Ballinasollus just a few miles north-west of Cookstown. A hill farming area was allocated or leased at the base of the Sperrin Mountains where they spilled over from neighbouring County Londonderry. At this moment in time we assume that the land was farmed by two brothers David and William Fraser who had come across from Ayrshire in Scotland. We also do not know why or  for what reason these brothers arrived in Ireland, or if they were second generation, but we do know that they were to start generations of Tyrone Frasers that would travel the world in the years to come.

Once again Thank You for visiting.
